Innovation Center JobFair: High school students and families are invited to attend the second annual Innovation Center’s Student Team Job Fair on Tuesday, October 3rd, 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the St. Vrain Valley Schools Innovation Center. Student teams are aid, work-based learning opportunities where high school students explore possible career options through various hands-on projects and mentoring from industry professionals. Students get paid to learn about a STEM career field. Check our Aeronautics, Bioscience, Cybersecurity, Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence, Creative Content, Robotics, and more. Come to learn about student project teams that enhance students’ futures!

Senior Pictures: HEF is providing FREE Senior portraits for students who need them. See the fliers here and get signed up!

Picture Day: Picture re-take day is October 18. If you didn’t get your picture taken in August, or just want something different, plan for this. They will be taken next door at New Meridian. See the attached fliers for more information on orders and viewing your proofs.

Test Prep Class: Test prep will begin the first week of October. This class is required for all 9th – 11th graders.  It will be offered on Mondays and Thursdays at 9am and 1pm in the classroom.  Plan to stay for an hour each week.
The first Monday class will happen during the student’s October count time slot.  We will not have class the week of October 16th, since we do not have school that Monday.

PSAT/NMSQT Testing: The PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifier Test) will be held on Wednesday, October 11, for all 9th-11th graders. Testing is 8am-noon, so plan to be here. More information will be forthcoming, so please check your email.

Parent Teacher Conferences: Conferences will be held October 10 and 11 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Sign up here to meet with your student’s mentor!

Sign up here for a Parent/Guardian FLVS Account! Each night of conferences, Stacey will be presenting current data about our school at 6:00.  She will also be available throughout the evenings to support you setting up a Parent/Guardian Account and showing you what we look for to be certain your student has completed their work.

October is Colorado Application Month! Are you applying to a post-secondary school in Colorado? Dreading all those application fees? If you submit your applications October 17-19, those fees are waived. Woo-hoo! Create an account here and start your application journey! And don’t forget to use Naviance for your applications, goals, strengths, and planning!
